NEWCASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER :: MELISSA + MICK GET MARRIED!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Melissa & Mick. The weather has been a bit crazy lately and with an outdoor ceremony I was beginning to wonder if we were going to get rained out when it started pouring that morning. Luckily the rain eased off and the ceremony was able to go ahead at Burwood Rotunda overlooking the ocean. These guys are such a beautiful family and obviously have a lot of love for each other and their kids. You’ll see an image below of Montanah (8) absolutely bawling her eyes out. Don’t worry, they are tears of complete happiness Melissa & Mick, thankyou for inviting me to be part of your big day and I wish you both a long and happy marriage. Onto the piccies..

Busy busy day to day. Lots of things to do around the house and then into Newcastle for Taliha & John’s pre-wedding shoot. Hubby and the girls came into Newcastle with me and went to the beach so by the time we got home they were both super tired and after a quick shower crashed in our bed. They are both fidgeters in their sleep so if I had waited another 5 minutes they probably would have been upside or had legs flung across each other!

Ash is starting at a new preschool this year and her nan bought her a new backpack to take to “school”. As soon as I got home from work she came flying out of the house with it on and parading it around. Never mind the fact it comes down to her knees! When I asked her what we should do for today’s photo she insisted it be a photo of her and her backpack.. so here she is.. Ash and her Dora backpack

We had lots of running around to do today the Ash went to her Nan & Grandad’s for a sleepover so Em was victim this afternoon for the second day in a row. Apparently lens caps are A. very tasty B. very funny. After having a quick chew, she decided SHE would put the lens cap back on… while I was trying to take photos of her naturally. Of course it then became a game with me trying to run away or move the camera to avoid ending up with Emmy dribble on my lens which then made her giggle even more!

It got to the mid to high 30′s here today so I decided we would have an inside day and keep cool in the air conditioning. Ash put on one of her Fairies DVD’s which Em absolutely loves. Today’s shot is of Em looking like she’s doing a cheeky giggle. In actual fact this is her version of when you cup your hands around your mouth and yell something out (Haaarmony, Rhaaapsody for those of you in the know!). She has the yelling bit down pat, just not so much the hand part!

Twirling twirling always twirling. Ash will generally have some kind of fairy/dancing dress on for a good majority of the day. The more her skirt twirls the better in her eyes. Whenever I wear a dress she makes me do a twirl so she can rate it’s twirliness factor. Ahh the things that are important to a 4 year old!

Another gorgeous summer day today! For most of the day we attempted to do a mass cleanup of the house and find homes for all the new toys we acquired over christmas. I had a heap of items to take photos of so I can try and sell them including some baby things Em has outgrown. As soon as I got her bouncer out she decided to make herself comfortable. The novelty of being able to actually stand in it and bounce went down well too! I had a giggle when I snapped this one, it’s like she is reminiscing about the good old days. They were the good old days for me at least, back when she wasn’t mobile and I didn’t have to say “NO Emmy!” a million times a day!
