Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Melissa & Mick. The weather has been a bit crazy lately and with an outdoor ceremony I was beginning to wonder if we were going to get rained out when it started pouring that morning. Luckily the rain eased off and the ceremony was able to go ahead at Burwood Rotunda overlooking the ocean. These guys are such a beautiful family and obviously have a lot of love for each other and their kids. You’ll see an image below of Montanah (8) absolutely bawling her eyes out. Don’t worry, they are tears of complete happiness Melissa & Mick, thankyou for inviting me to be part of your big day and I wish you both a long and happy marriage. Onto the piccies..

Earlier in the week I caught up with Loren and Jerome and their gorgeous little princess Maisy for their pre-wedding shoot. Lets just say after several reschedules due to horrible weather we FINALLY had the weather gods smiling on us and had PERFECT weather! These guys are such a gorgeous family and I can’t wait for their wedding day, I can just tell it’s going to be amazing!

Ash is starting at a new preschool this year and her nan bought her a new backpack to take to “school”. As soon as I got home from work she came flying out of the house with it on and parading it around. Never mind the fact it comes down to her knees! When I asked her what we should do for today’s photo she insisted it be a photo of her and her backpack.. so here she is.. Ash and her Dora backpack

We had lots of running around to do today the Ash went to her Nan & Grandad’s for a sleepover so Em was victim this afternoon for the second day in a row. Apparently lens caps are A. very tasty B. very funny. After having a quick chew, she decided SHE would put the lens cap back on… while I was trying to take photos of her naturally. Of course it then became a game with me trying to run away or move the camera to avoid ending up with Emmy dribble on my lens which then made her giggle even more!

Twirling twirling always twirling. Ash will generally have some kind of fairy/dancing dress on for a good majority of the day. The more her skirt twirls the better in her eyes. Whenever I wear a dress she makes me do a twirl so she can rate it’s twirliness factor. Ahh the things that are important to a 4 year old!

Happy New Year! I hope the first day of 2012 has been a great one for everyone. We kicked off our 2012 with some good old summer fun in the backyard with the hose and sprinkler, then finished the day with dinner in the park near the beach. After so much rain the past few weeks I think everyone is trying to make the most of the sunshine and nice weather while it’s here!

Being the 1st of January, today is the start of my annual Photo-A-Day project which I do for the month of January. This will be my third year doing it and it’s great looking back at the past photos and seeing how much the girls have grown. This year my little firecracker Emily is going to prove a challenge. I foresee lots of photos of her running away and very little eye contact if any. She is one, there are much more important things to do than look at a camera when you are one! Ash is now 4 and will quite happily be my little model as long as you get her in the right mood. I do however foresee lots of crazy faces from her but hey, the Photo-A-Day documents our life and my girls ARE crazy
